DICE answers all fan questions regarding Battlefield 3

Recently DICE's Karl Magnus had an interesting interview with GAME to answer many question of fans regarding their upcoming shooter Battlefield 3.

We have listed below the complete details of Karl's Q&A session with GAME related to Battlefield 3. Check out below what he had to say.

Q – Will maps be scaled down to fit the amount of players on the console version of Battlefield 3?

A – "Yes, they will run on smaller versions of the same maps"

Q – Are there any maps where vehicles aren’t present?

A – "We actually have an “Infantry Only” option for the player who wants to concentrate on that experience"

Q – Do you believe you’ve done all you can to max out the power on X360?

A – "We’re definitely pushing the hardware much more than before with BFBC2"

Q – Are there any plans to make another downloadable Battlefield title similar to BF1942?

A – "Sorry, can’t comment at this time."

Q – What is your greatest achievement with the Frostbite 2 engine and what does it mean for Battlefield 3?

A – "It’s how the engine enables us to deliver great visuals, stunning animations, awesome soundscape, large scale maps and total destruction. It enables is to build our all out war!"

Q – Will we see the return of the Battlefield Commander role from Battlefield 2?

A – "We’ve decided to push down the responsibility of the commander to the squad leaders who set the orders"

Q – What is your favourite Battlefield moment from the whole series?

A – "So much to choose from, but I’m going to have to say the intro movie to BF1942 is something that has stuck with me"

Q – Why have you included prone in Battlefield 3, and why was it not included in earlier Battlefield games?

A – "Prone is back because the community wanted it so badly! It’s a technical challenge to get right with prone. The animations, but more importantly it needs to be balanced with second-to-second gameplay."

Q –If you’re in a jet , do you have an infair advantage over people on foot and in tanks?

A – "Of course not, Battlefield has been built around a rock-paper-scissors mentality, there’s always something to counter the other. Anything from infantry carrier stingers to mobile AA vehicles will give pilots a challenge."

Q – Have you ever had a real life Battlefield experience? If so, when and where?

A – "Several parts of our team spend time hunting down the right reference material during pre productions, this means going to military excersises to record audio and shooting ranges to evaluate weapons handling"

Q – Will the console games ever have the number of players available to PC gamers?

A – "Consoles are not as powerful as todays PC’s. Running 64 players matches would mean scaling things down like vehicles, destruction ect. These are key pillars of what Battlefield is all about, this makes it a no for us."

Q – Will there be expansions for Battlefield 3 such as Special Forces for Battlefield 2?

A – "Yes there will be PDLC post launch. We’ve already announced Back to Karkand, there will be more to come"

Q –When will the BETA be out?

A – "Soon, be patient! As soon as we can, we’ll announce the date"
